In 1989, kojic acid was first discovered as a natural byproduct from Shiitake mushroom. Since then it has been widely used as an effective skin lightening agent.


Kojic acid works by blocking the production of skin melanin, resulting in a brighter and more even complexion.  Working in concert with 4-butylresorcinol, this unique combination endow skin with a fairer look and lighter skin tone.  These ingredients used are clinically proven to reduce hyperpigmentation ( including age spots, uneven skin tone and sun-induced dark spots).
